Canada is a multicultural society that actively encourages its residents to preserve and promote their cultural heritage. The Telugu-speaking Indo-Canadian population in Ontario is not only large but also prosperous and vibrant. The Telugu Cultural Association of Greater Toronto (TCAGT) was established with the primary objective of promoting, preserving, maintaining, perpetuating, and enriching the cultural heritage of people of Telugu origin in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and neighboring cities.

TCAGT operates as a non-profit organization, and its general body comprises Annual Members and Life Members. The day-to-day affairs of the organization are managed by the Executive Committee, consisting of the President, Secretary, Treasurer, four Directors, and two Youth Directors. The fiscal welfare and long-range planning of TCAGT are overseen by the Board of Trustees, which includes a chairman and two trustees elected from the life members.

In line with the generous spirit of Telugu culture, the TCAGT executive committee organizes various events such as Sankranti, Ugadi, Deepavali, and Christmas. Additionally, the association arranges annual picnics, musical events, and youth activities to foster and showcase the talents of the younger generation within the community, providing them with a platform to meet and interact.
